Traditional & Thai Culture Tour
(6.00 am - 7.30 am, minimum 2 persons)
Departing early, we visit the statue of Khruba Srivichai (1878-1938), who was a highly revered Lanna monk, and join in the everyday Thai Buddhist ritual of making merit by offering food to monks on their morning alms round. We visit Wat Chedi Luang, which was built by King Saen Muang Ma around 1401. The temple has the largest pagoda in the city and once enshrined the Emerald Buddha. Originally more than 80 meters high, the pagoda now stands around 40 meters high as a result of an earthquake in 1545. We continue to Chiang Mai Gate to experience a morning market bustling with activity and buy local delicacies.
